The Story Behind
What is a House, Bed Mattress and Horse?
Inspired by the horses that relocate refugees after their houses are destroyed in Gaza with only sleeping mattresses to be saved to sleep at.
The concept of the house is reduced to the sleeping mattress only!
Horse from war, redefine destruction, transfers, morphology via visual dialogue of the destroyed houses elements; such as rebars & (Concrete) only.
However the twist in this visual dialogue is that the concrete here is made from a sleeping bed mattress, a metaphor of the most valuable item the (bed mattresses) that are saved and carried from place to another by horses!
Inspired by Mahmoud Darwish poem, the destruction become a (symbol) to continue living on this earth, even if all is destroyed! De-Struction sculptures are messages of hope to stop the war not only in Gaza but in any place in the world.
Mahmoud Darwish: "On This Earth":
On this earth has what is worthy of life,
the recurrence of April,
the smell of bread at dawn,
the opinion of a woman in men,
the writings of Aeschylus,
the beginning of love, moss on a stone,
mothers standing on a flute’s string and the invaders’ fear of memories.
